Social Network Analysis and Ancient History
I have been experimenting with SNA and Classical Greece since 2012 (but using it in a different context since 2004). I get excited in seeing how people are linked together. I am curious about how Greece, and Athens in particular, became so innovative and creative, producing dozens of inventions, innovations and discoveries. Does the scale and interconnectivity of AThens have something to do with it? Are there lessons we can learn about innovation today?
Four Research Areas
You can use the side bar on the left to navigate to the four concentrations (so far) that I have been working on: Periclean Athens, the social network of Socrates, the Egyptian Amarna Letters, and Alexander the Great. These are samples.
